Whilst marooned in the summer house during a heavy downpour I was inspired by the rain drops and the sound of water hitting the roof to grab a piece of paper and whatever medium came to hand so I could capture the moment. Dipping a brush into black and blue inks, I let the colours fall onto damp paper. I then used a green watercolour, again letting the paint drop onto the damp paper. It's an interesting result - I may leave it as it is or use it as a background page for journalling.
When the light was better earlier this morning, I set up a stack of small terracotta garden pots and a wicker trug and did a couple of quick sketches using water-soluable graphite pencils. I couldn't resist adding watercolour pencils and coloured pens!
More images have been added to 'Dharma in the Gallery' and 'Journals and Sketchbooks'. A trawl through my portfolio revealed a few forgotten pieces (some from old sketchbooks, some from art classes taken last summer) which deserved to see the light of day. A thoroughly enjoyable day. Wonder what tomorrow will bring?
