My Sense Of Summer

newly mown grass

insects buzzing

the warmth of the sun on my skin

the first local strawberries

the fresh new green leaves on the trees

a cloudless blue sky

lemonade

children’s laughter

a picnic blanket

being woken by birdsong and sunlight

washing blowing in the breeze

warm sand between my toes

eating outdoors
