A Day at the Races

What a wonderful day we had yesterday at Musselburgh races.  Fourteen of us were there to celebrate Mum & Dad's 50th wedding anniversary and we really did it in style.  We had a private box and balcony situated right at the winning post.  On arrival we had champagne and canapes then sat down to a beautiful three course lunch.  The private room had it's own bar and barman and we had a personal tipster who advised which horses to bet on.  The big surprise for Mum and Dad on the day was when they were asked to judge the best dressed horse and then to present the winning trainer and jockey with the trophy and champagne.  We didn't manage to back many winning horses but it didn't really matter. The atmosphere, the noise of the crowds and seeing all these fabulous horses was just amazing - it was all really exciting.  We have a wonderful collection of photographs to remember the day so I will create a special photo album here for these.
